A Psalm

John 16:12-15
¹³ But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes,
he will guide you into all the truth. (NIV)

Lord, I know that You are always with me
Day and night, Your shadow is over me
covering my being with grace and love
But I know this is not enough
I have not looked You in the eye
I have not shared my aspirations,
my fears, my heart
I have been blind to Your guiding hand
Ignoring Your outstretched arms of love
and acceptance
I have kept the darkness of the night
in my heart
~ fighting the demons alone, in vain

Lord, please carry me now, I am too tired
Show me what the sun sees by day
Point me to the icy blue peaks
Guide my unsteady steps
Slake the thirst of my being
as You immerse me in the life-giving
torrent of Your Spirit
For I am always in You
and You are in me
