Waiting

eland2

Ezekiel 34:11-12 (NIV). “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”

San: The earliest hunter-gatherers in southern Africa

LORD, you have been pursuing me
not chasing, but following
Patiently, like the San
tracking a wounded eland
not to kill
but to save

Waiting for the time
I would realise
how fragile
how weak
I was

Have I finally
stopped.
running.
Have I given who I am
to Your embrace
fully
wholely
entirely
surrendered?

Beautiful one

Psalm 147:3 (VOICE)
“He binds their wounds,
heals the sorrows of their hearts.”

A fissure
filled with clay
Cleaned, it shows
the narrow, deep crack
extending into your
soul
Small, less significant
scratches
don’t mar the beauty
O, beautiful one
I cannot merely
fill
the faults
I need to
slowly
painfully
patiently
grind a bit
Lovingly
polish
etch away
what seems to be
normal
Take away healthy
fragments
to get to the
source
of the pain

Effervescence

Philippians 4:5 (VOICE)
“Keep your gentle nature so that
all people will know what it looks like
to walk in His footsteps.”

FOR LISA:

Delicate bubbles rise
effortlessly overflowing
lifting the soul
Laughter and lightness cover
a depth so deep
Selfless
The needs of others
come first
So cheerful, she can take it
– laugh it off…
But pain finds
fissures
Slowly seeps into the soul
May you know
His arms enfold you
in eternal embrace
Let that love settle
refill the fountain
You are loved

Tankwa Karoo

The remnants of frosting fog
rest in the valleys
Like patches avoiding the quilt
they try to escape the rising sun
I watch my breath
as it clouds my sight
All is barren and lifeless

As the mist moves
a glistening jewel is revealed
Harsh cold coats a downy feather
frosty crystals sparkling
Courageously facing despair
Softly holding vulnerability
Deeply moving me

News…or not?

Hi All!

I haven’t had the energy ~ or the inspiration ~ to post anything lately. I hope you have not been too disappointed!

So, to turn to one of the greatest inspirational books of all time, here is encouragement for today:

Ephesians 3: 17-19 (Living Bible)

“We pray that Christ will be more and more at home
in your hearts  as you trust in him.  May your roots go down deep
into the soil of God’s marvellous love.
And may you have the power to understand as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is.
May you experience the love of Christ,
though it is so great you will never fully understand it.
Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power
that comes from God.”

You have risen

John 20 (NIV)
15 He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?
Who is it you are looking for?”

Yes Jesus
You have risen
from the tomb
You are not there
and I did not notice Continue reading
